I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. Psalm 119:162
The spoils of war were enjoyed after difficult work, fierce battles, and great victories. Likewise, it’s through much time and effort that a heart is able to rejoice in God’s Word. When you read, hear, memorize, and meditate upon the Bible you will find invaluable treasures, such as practical and timeless examples that encourage the soul to look to God.
- You lose a job – so did David when King Saul chased him from the palace.
- Your prayers remain unanswered – so did Daniel’s when he requested details concerning his visions from the LORD.
- You have to make important family decisions – so did Ruth when she chose to move to Israel.
- You have to make career decisions – so did Solomon when he judged the nation as king.
- You have a loved one pass on – so did Mary and Martha when their brother Lazarus died.
- Your car breaks down on your way to an important meeting – well, it wasn’t a car, but Paul was shipwrecked on his way to Rome.
The Bible, God’s Word, is filled with real people, real problems, and real solutions.
When you search the scriptures, your heart will be encouraged to trust in the LORD and to rejoice in Him.
