Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4-5
When you have no direction, life can be frustrating and even fearful. David understood this, so he asked God for help.
David asked for a guide. Lord, show me the way so I don’t mistake another way for yours. The intelligent still need God’s wisdom and the most successful require His help. David had no interest in good ideas or fine notions. He wanted to know the ways of God, which only God could show him.
David asked for a teacher. Lord, teach me the paths so I don’t wander down the wrong way believing it to be your way. There are a multitude of ways to go, David wanted to know the right way so he could avoid the paths of sin as he walked with God.
David asked for a leader. Lord, lead me into truth so I am not deceived into going another direction. David wanted a leader so he would not get lost along the way. He looked to God to be that leader, placing his faith in the LORD.
If you need to know what to do or where to go, ask the LORD for help. Seek His direction and wait for Him to lead. God will always take you the correct way.
